Zig-Zag wind sifting systems
To relieve the demands on sorting line(s) of a recycling process, a zig-zag windshifter system is provided at the beginning of the cleaning line.
The material flow is split into a light fraction and a heavy fraction. The heavy fraction falls downwards through an upwardly directed air stream, the light fraction is sucked upwards.
The light fraction is then removed from the air stream via a wear-resistant cyclone. The purified air stream is then blown in at the bottom of the zigzag wind sifter. A closed loop airflow is thus obtained.
Each zig-zag windshifter system is put under pressure by branching off part of the closed loop airflow to a Keller dust filter.
Zig-zag windshifter systems are widely used in projects of LYBOVER RECYCLING and in projects for shredder extraction in companies that process scrap metal.

The quantities of material to be processed largely determine the dimensions, inclination angles and provided air quantities. Attention is also paid to the wear-resistant design of the heavily loaded parts of the zig-zag windshifter, piping and cyclone. Versions with wear-resistant metals are available.
